Cefalu
Cefalu is a small settlement in the Confederacy of Malkuth that was founded by Rana the Elder after the fall of Fort Ilamynir when the Kandari Region became corrupted by the Bloodsmiths. Cefalu exists in almost total isolation from the rest of the Confederacy and with the isolation, becomes a community under siege from dark forces.
Rana the Elder founded the region 300 years prior to your visit there now. Vesh Kray is Rana's "nephew" and is the owner of the only tavern in town, Utopia. Utopia is famous throughout Malkuth for its Utopian Stout which Vesh makes himself. Although it is not openly stated, most of the villagers of Cefalu do harbour prejudices towards dwarves and elves, seeing them as lesser beings.
The area is also home to Dr Dee's Travelling Circus. Along with the circus, Shadow Company's training hall, the Museum of Light and Hirsig's Tower are also established in the sleepy seaside town of Cefalu.
Kandari Badlands
The Kandari Badlands were once a lush and verdant forest inhabited by a native species of intelligent wolf like creatures known as the Grel. Once the expeditions began arriving from Ferelden, a fort/outpost was built by the colonists who, although their intereactions began honorable enough, soon began to find ways to attempt to steal the land from the Grel. They learned from a strange group of dwarves who emerged from a hidden deep Roads entrance near the fort that the land beneath the Grel was filled with precious minerals and resources which could be exploited for their mutual benefit. It was the evil from these dwarves that eventually turned the land bad and desolation soon followed which led to the present name of the Kandari Badlands.
It is rumoured, that an oasis exists somewhere within the area and it remains untouched by the Corruption and is still green and fertile.
